CarePods are an essential part of the Lisbon Project’s approach to communicating with its community members and creating opportunities for inclusion by organizing group gatherings. The CarePod’s overall aim is to inform, support, encourage and –as is most important to us at the Lisbon Project– to create community.
Each CarePod team is made up of 1 PodLeader that coordinates overall CarePod engagement and activities. And 1-4 facilitators who support all communication in the group.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Building and maintaining warm, professional and consistent relationships with CarePod volunteers and community members;
Connecting community members to opportunities and support and ensuring they feel heard, respected and valued;
Keeping beneficiaries engaged in CarePod communications.
Organise gatherings and meetings where CarePod members can get to know each other.
Help translate any important documentation relevant to the beneficiary.
Encourage community members and volunteers to participate in regular gatherings at the Lisbon Project such as dinners and Family Friday.
Requirements:
Must have the ability to creatively and flexibly solve problems as they arise.
Cultural awareness and ability to interact with people from different cultures, genders, religions, and backgrounds.
Strong interpersonal communication skills, including effective listening.
