Role: Portuguese Tutor Volunteer
Reports to: Education Program Assistant
Time Commitment: 6 hours p/Week-minimum 12 weeks
Start Date: May 26th
End date: August 25th
Graduation Ceremony: August 28th
Summary:
As a Portuguese Tutor Volunteer, you are to provide academic support to students from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds. Responsible for delivering engaging and structured Portuguese lessons, helping learners develop confidence in reading, writing, and speaking skills. The tutor must be a native or highly proficient Portuguese speaker to ensure effective language learning..
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan and conduct Portuguese tutoring sessions tailored to different learning levels.
Assist students in improving grammar, vocabulary, listening, and writing skills.
Create interactive activities and exercises to reinforce language learning.
Motivate students and provide a positive and encouraging learning environment.
Monitor students’ progress and provide constructive feedback.
Work closely with the Lisbon Project’s education team to align teaching strategies.
Requirements:
Native or highly proficient in Portuguese.
Experience in teaching, tutoring, or mentoring is a plus.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to adapt teaching methods to different learning styles.
Fluency in English and knowledge of other languages is an advantage.
Familiarity with online teaching tools (if remote tutoring is required).
