Time Commitment: 8 - 10 hours p/Week - 6 Months Commitment

Summary:

We are seeking a passionate and organized Workshop Training Coordinator to develop and implement a training program for refugees and migrants who will lead various skill-based workshops, including cooking and other talents. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact by empowering community members with valuable skills while creating sustainable workshop experiences.


About Hands On:

Hands On connects people with local hosts who share their skills through workshops. We help hosts earn income while creating meaningful cultural exchanges for participants.

About The Lisbon Project:

The Lisbon Project is dedicated to supporting and empowering refugees and migrants in Lisbon through community programs, skill development, and integration support.




Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Complete the Lisbon Project volunteer onboarding process.

  • Research best practices for workshop facilitation and training development.

  • Attend 2-3 skill-based workshops to understand the format and experience.

  • Develop a comprehensive "Gold Standard" workshop training curriculum.

  • Select and train 5-10 refugee/migrant candidates to run cooking workshops.

  • Assist trainees with creating workshop listings on our platform.

  • Coordinate with Lisbon Project Hands On to market the workshops.

  • Co-facilitate initial workshops, providing real-time coaching and feedback.

  • Evaluate workshop success and refine the program as needed.


Requirements:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience in training, teaching, or workshop facilitation (preferred).

  • Interest in diverse skill areas (culinary arts, crafts, arts, etc.) and cultural exchange.

  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations.

  • Adaptability and problem-solving mindset.

  • Proficiency in English (Portuguese language skills a plus).

  • Flexible schedule with some evening or weekend availability required for workshops.
